Graduated with honours in Conservation of Musical Heritage, graduated from the Conservatory (Saxophone, Jazz, Didactics) and completed a PhD in Sociology of Culture “unanimously and with distinction†at the Jagellonian University in Krakow. As a musicologist and social researcher he has published for numerous international journals (The Galpin Society Journal, Orbis Idearum, Journal of Social Sciences etc.). He has taught at various Italian music conservatories. He is currently Professor at the Conservatory of Music in Monopoli, at the University of Salento and a member of the College of PhDs at the Conservatory of Lecce. As a musician and conductor, he has performed in numerous contexts from classical to jazz to international pop. He is interested in saxophone production and was the owner of Raganato Mouthpieces in Italy until 2008.
